Henry Mackley review of Green Café, Ludlow

I’ve posted about it before and have seen Henry eating there on numerous occasions as well. Let’s hope a slew of reviews follow his and . . . maybe the national press as well? It’s as good as Henry says it is.

Bryan’s Ground – Nr Presteigne

The garden of David Wheeler and Simon Dorrell was open yesterday to coincide with a push for the Presteigne Festival which takes place at the end of August. Lovely garden, but I hope that they got a bulk price on their purchase of garden benches – there must be at least 20 of them in the 3 acre garden.

There’s some great planting combinations at Bryan’s Ground. Box edged parterre borders with fennel and simple yellow day lillies, and lots and lots of iris sibirica.

And good tea and cake as well.

It’s the summer Open Studios at my alma mater – Great Western Studios – this weekend. If you’re in London then get over there – open today (Saturday) and tomorrow from 12-6 on both days. They will all be there – Kate Gibb, Shiv, Melissa Hunt, Liza Campbell, Steve Williams, Lisa Jones, Brickett Davda, Catherine Parkinson,  Mole Browne, Julie Goldsmith, Jo Ratcliffe . . . and more.
